A multitude of angels chanting "Glory to God in Heaven"
and this is worthy the faith of the shepherds.
From Persia come three Magi (Kings) with gifts
a bright star guides them. Without missing a beat,
when they come to Jerusalem, they shall ask with desire,
where Christ was born, that all may know him.
By Christ as king Herod heard,
he immediately turned into a beast,
that he feared much for the kingdom,
lest Christ take it away from him, and he lose the merit.
He keeps the Magi and asks, "Where is Christ born?
-In Bethlehem we know, as the scripture tells us.
He told them to obey, and wherever they find Him,
Let them worship him, and tell him straightway,
when he also shall come to worship Him,
with deceit the misogod(who hates god) to destroy Him.
The Magi go out running and see the Star,
light divine descended and with joy they run to it.
They came to Bethlehem, they found the Virgin Mary
She held in her thighs her holy Tokon(baby).
Kneelers worship Him and give Him gifts:
the myrrh, gold, and linen, they praise God.
The myrrh as a man, and gold as a king,
and the libanon as God in all the atmosphere.
Having worshipped Him, they immediately start traveling again
and Herod they study to go and find him
But an angel comes out of heaven, and hinders them,
other way to go, he shall appoint them.
And again another angel commands Joseph
to go into Egypt, and there to rest,
to take Mary also with her Son,
that Herod seeks her own Tokon.
And the king saw not the wise men return,
in Bethlehem he commanded children not to leave.
Such children as they found two years old and under
let them all pass straight from their swords.
Thousands of fourteen are slain in a day,
lamentation, weeping, and wailing, and sorrow had every mother.
And the saying of the prophet Isaiah was fulfilled
after the other prophets and Jeremiah:
"A voice is heard from Ramah, Rachel weeps for her children,
fables he would not have, that these things he hath not."
Behold that we have told you all the praise
Of the Holy Nativity of our Jesus Christ
And we bid you good night, go to sleep,
take a little sleep and get up straight away
To the Church you ran with divine eagerness
and with much reverence in the Divine Liturgy.
And straightway, when you return to your mansion,
straightforwardly set the table, put your food
and make your cross, taste, be glad,
give also to every poor man that is in want,
Give us (for) our effort too, whatever is your definition,
and may our Christ always be your helper.
Many happy years, always happy,
physically and mentally enriched
Many happy returns!
